Malaga, information about the way to and from the airport

Malaga is the capital of the Costa del Sol in southern Andalusia. Nowadays it is a modern city with an important commercial port, airport and university. Malaga also has a long history. The old town with its historical buildings goes back to the middle ages and renaissance. For fans of yachting visit nearby Marbella. Tip: have a walk along the beach promenade in the El Palo district and try some Andalusian cuisine in one of the many bars and restaurants.

Car:

The airport is linked directly to the N-340 towards Fuengirola (south-west of the airport) and Malaga (north-east of the airport).
From Malaga the N-331 then continues north to Cordoba. The airport is linked to the coast by the E-15.

Rail:

There are local trains every 30 minutes to Malaga and Fuengirola.

Bus:

Shuttle buses and public bus number 19 operate between the airport and Malaga (departure every 30 minutes from 06:30 to 23:30), leaving from the international arrivals hall. There is also a bus line that goes to Marbella every 45 minutes (05:30-23:45).

Taxi:

There are tax ranks in front of the terminals. Journey time to Malaga or Fuengirola is around 20 minutes and around 15 minutes to Torremolinos. A small airport surcharge is applied.

Hire cars:

There are centrally-located Sixt and Avis rental locations at all Germanwings destinations. Reserve a car here and get great bargains.

Malaga Airport is 8km south-west of Malaga city centre and 5km north of Torremolinos.
There are airport information counters in the arrivals halls of both terminals and in the departures hall in Terminal A. The two terminals are connected by an internal passage.

Parking:

There are parking spaces outside both terminals. There are also short-term parking spaces.
