The airline industry is going through a time of great change. The fact that nothing ever stays the way it used to be is also true of airlines. And that includes discount airlines. Germanwings recognized this trend early on and has been adjusting accordingly. We believe that the airlines   offering their customers high quality at reasonable prices are the ones that will grow. And our success – your loyalty to us – proves us right. You, dear passengers, are rewarding our efforts.

That’s why  we  introduced a number of new ideas in 2007 that have been very well received: Our programme for connecting flights, our  flexible “Flex Plus” business rates and “Blind Booking” our newest programme for last-minute customers who wish to travel at low cost but haven’t yet decided on a destination. Even children are becoming more and more mobile and want to travel. We took note of this and now offer a service for children travelling on their own. All these extra services have brought us even closer to our clients who can book them from the comfort of their homes on our website http://www.germanwings.com/. This website, too, is continually being optimized so as to meet our high standards. That’s why it was awarded the “s@fer shopping” seal from the German technical control board (TÜV) for safety, quality and transparency.

Most of all we value quality, not only on the ground, but also in the air. We also take the environmental debate seriously and do our part. In 2007 we brought seven new Airbus A 319 planes into our fleet, planes that currently have the lowest emissions rate. We will add five more Airbus planes to our fleet in 2008. This massive investment also contributes towards reducing emissions.

But there is one constant throughout all these changes: our permanent effort to offer you the best quality at the lowest price.
